CIMRM 871 - Altar. Haltwhistle / Stamford, Britain

HATTWIFEL (sic) 871 Stukeley, Pal. Brit., III, 33 mentions an altar, which he kept in his garden at Stanford. Deo Soli invicto.

William Stukeley, Palaeographia Britannica: or, Discourses on antiquities in Britain, vol. 3, 1743, p.33 actually states:

The same year Mr. Gale and I travelled the whole length of the Roman wall in Northumberland. At Haltwisel I got an old alter, DEO SOLI INVICTO, which I left in my garden at Stamford.

"Haltwisel" is clearly modern Haltwhistle, and Stamford is in Lincolnshire. The whereabouts of Stukeley's collection is unknown to me.
